Made to take on the heat

The newly updated Freehand is a warm-weather essential, made for those who put their hats to work. Designed with a Cool Hand Luke crown and enhanced ventilation, it keeps the air flowing when the heat’s on. The squared-out front brim gives it a distinct profile, while the two-cord ribbon hatband and custom Seager pin add a timeless touch. Built from traditional ivory ventilated straw, this hat is tough enough for long days under the sun and sharp enough for wherever the evening takes you.

-Traditional ivory ventilated straw for breathability

-Cool Hand Luke 5 1/4" crown for a bold, structured look

-NEW two-cord ribbon hatband with Seager pin for a classic finish

-4 1/2" brim with Western Flange

-NEW Drilex interior sweatband with Seager branding

-4X Straw. Oval shape

1. How should a cowboy hat fit?
-A hat should fit snugly, but not too tight- just comfortably enough to where it’s not squeezing. A properly fitting hat won’t slide around when you move your head, but also shouldn’t leave a deep mark on your forehead. If your hat feels too loose, you can use a hat spacer to adjust the fit.

2. What’s the best way to store a cowboy hat?
-To maintain its shape, store your hat upside down on its crown or on a hat rack. Keeping it on its brim can cause warping over time. If storing long-term, keep your Seager hat box to protect it from dust, moisture, and direct sunlight, which can cause fading and damage to the material.

3. What does the "X" rating mean on hats?
-The "X" rating is a traditional measure of a hat's quality, particularly for felt hats. Generally, a higher X rating generally indicates a higher percentage of fur in the felt blend, making the hat more durable, softer, and water-resistant. For straw hats, the X rating typically refers to the tightness of the weave and the overall quality of the material.

4. How do I measure my head for the right hat size?
-To measure your head, use a flexible measuring tape and wrap it around the widest part of your head, about 1 inch above your eyebrows and ears. Make sure it’s snug but not too tight. Compare your measurement to our hat size chart to find the best fit. If you’re between sizes, it's usually best to size up and use a hat spacer for a more customized fit.

    Great Hat For Summer Time

Love the hat. I wasn't sure if I would like the cool hand Luke crown but once I put it on it's my favorite new look. I like that the higher crown sits up off you head more. The ventilation will be great once the weather warms up. It fits a little tight. I have the longhorn hat in the same size (xxl) and that one fits like a glove but the freehand is just a little bit more snug. I steamed it up a bit and now it fits much better.
